Info

arbhar heralds a new generation of granular processing in Eurorack. Sampled audio can be chopped into tiny grains, scattered, shaped, re-pitched, reversed, and layered for an endless range of audio manipulation from seamless frozen tones to mutated acousmatic madness. Each grain sounds with its defined specifications. When modulation is used, the “per-grain parameter” definition allows for true polyphonic layering.

MOD CV Parameters

A/B X/Y Switch Positions

MOD CV controls described parameter when jumpers are in the relevant positions.

MOD CV is avaiable as a jack in the expander only.

Stereo Panning

MOD CV values, interpolated:

5V: Mono

0V: Full Left/Right

-5V: Random Left/Right

Reverb

MOD CV controls a reverb.

Positive voltage mixes reverb with dry signal.
Reverb freezes at +5V

Negative voltage omits the dry signal and only allows the wet signal to pass. The reverb has additional shimmering modulation.

Hold

MOD CV controls the hold parameter.

Positive voltage increases the set Hold time.

Negative voltage decreases the set Hold time.

Delay

MOD CV controls a delay.

Positive voltage controls delay times between 80-1000ms with fixed feedback level of 67% for a more standard echo effect.

Negative voltage controls delay times between 25-1ms with a fixed feedback level of 99% for some shimmering KarplusStrong effects.

A summed dry and wet signal will generate from Output 1 if it's the only Output connected.

When both are connected:
Output 1: Dry signal.
Output 2: Wet signal.

Erase & Undo

Description

Hold Shift and press Strike to undo an overdub. Doing this a second time will erase the buffer completely.

Erase

Description

After initiating undo and then repeating the action, the buffer is erased.

Onset Control Modes

Change Mode

Description

Hold Shift and press Capture to change the onset capture mode then turning the layer knob.

Modes

Alpha	Capture Behaviour: Capture activates upon onset detection. Gate Output: Beginning of each grain.
Beta	Capture Behaviour: Capture activates upon onset detection. Gate Output: Beginning of each onset detection and is high for duration of time set by the Hold parameter.

Gamma	Capture Behaviour: Capture will not activate upon onset detection. Gate Output: Beginning of each grain.
Delta	Capture Behaviour: Capture will not activate upon onset detection. Gate Output: Beginning of each onset detection and is high for duration of time set by the Hold parameter.

Playback

Follow Mode & Scan Mode

Follow mode introduces automated movement of the playhead. In default (scan) mode movement of playhead is controlled by the scan know only.

Description

Hold Shift and press Capture, then turn Scan full left or right twice. Strike LED will illuminate when follow mode is engaged.
